The Gubana is a historical cake from the interior of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region.
Each family has handed down its own recipe with a particular version, but each had the characteristic of seeing prepared a vortex of pasta filled with dried fruit flavored with wine and / or grappa.
Its particular name and its shape folded in on itself, it seems to derive from the term “guba” which in the Slavic language identifies a curve.
